Panasonic Completes 7″ Toughpad Range With Android

Panasonic’s 7″ Toughpad range has been completed, with a new Android 4.4.4 model – the Toughpad FZ-B2 – joining existing Windows units. A fanless tablet, the Fz-B2 is IP65-compliant, meets the MIL-STD-810G standard and can be dropped from 1.5m. Operation is possible in -10 deg to 50 deg temperatures.

With extended use in mind, Panasonic has built in an ambient light sensor to extend battery life. The tablet can operate for up to 7 hours on battery, charging to full in 2.5 hours. The battery is replaceable and, if required, a hot-swappable configuration can be set up. The tablet is lightweight (540g), thin (18mm) and is compatible with various peripherals. These can include a 2D barcode reader; Smartcard reader; vehicle pass-through antenna; and hot-swappable battery.
