Apple and Samsung Claim All Smartphone Profits

Financial services company Cannacord Genuity estimates that Apple took 94% of the smartphone industry’s profits in Q3 – while shipping only 13.5% of the volume. Samsung, meanwhile, made 11% of the smartphone industry’s profit. That combined 105% figure is because competitors have failed to make a profit or have actively lost money. Spanish Pay-TV Rises

Spanish regulator CNMC has shown pay-TV services in the country added 1.4 million subscribers in the last year. There were 5.4 million subscribers at the end of Q1’15 – a 36% rise from Q1’14. Movistar Plus, the combined entity resulting from the merger of Movistar and Canal Plus, was a significant boost to the market.
