Current combined production capacity from LG Display’s WOLED panels and Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels totals approximately 10 million units annually when accounting for yield rates. This output level matches present market demand but may require additional manufacturing capacity as shipments grow beyond 2028.

Samsung Electronics has expanded its OLED TV product range using WOLED panels sourced exclusively from LG Display. The company has increased OLED adoption in its premium TV segment as part of its strategy to compete with Chinese manufacturers’ MiniLED offerings. Samsung has stated a goal to become the leading OLED TV manufacturer.

LG Display is positioned to benefit from increased OLED TV demand driven by Samsung’s expanded product strategy. The supplier relationship is expected to support improved profitability for WOLED panel producers.

UBI Research forecasts that major panel manufacturers will likely begin large-scale expansion of dedicated OLED TV production lines as the market exceeds 10 million units. The research firm identifies 2028 as a potential inflection point for OLED TV market growth.

Current OLED technology targets the premium TV segment, where picture quality and brand positioning are primary factors in purchasing decisions.
