Oculus Will Support Mac When Apple Prioritises Graphics

Palmer Luckey, founder of Oculus VR, has said that the Oculus Rift headset will work with Macs when Apple makes “a good computer”.

Apple does not currently prioritise the high-end GPUs that the Oculus Rift requires to work: today, no single Apple computer meets the Rift’s minimum specifications.

Luckey told Shack News, “You can buy a $6,000 Mac Pro with the top of the line AMD FirePro D700, and it still doesn’t match our recommended specs. So if they prioritise higher-end GPUs like they used to for a while back in the day, we’d love to support Mac”.

HTC has taken a different tack to Oculus, which has said that its Vive headset will work with Apple and Linux machines at launch.
