The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for the 8″ Nvidia Shield tablet. The battery in these products (model numbers P1761, P1761W and P1761WX) has been found to occasionally overheat, posing a fire hazard. About 83,000 tablets were sold in the USA, and 5,000 in Canada. Consumers should contact Nvidia for a free replacement.
