The NEC Group posted Q2 net profits of ¥15.18 billion ($133 million), down from ¥35.41 billion ($311 million) a year earlier, on revenue of ¥705.56 billion ($6.2 billion), an increase from ¥682.36 billion ($6.0 billion). For the first six months there were net profits of ¥24.55 billion ($215 million), up from ¥15.02 billion ($132 million), on turnover which rose to ¥1.29 trillion ($11.3 billion) from ¥1.20 trillion ($10.5 billion). The company commented that the global economy saw gradual improvement and that this led to steady performance which was supported by both international and domestic demand.
