Aiming to provide a projector replacement for conference rooms, NEC’s new Multisync E-series LCD display supports multiple different peripherals through its OPS slots. The slot can be used to attach PCs, tuner modules, HDBaseT receivers and more.
The new display is available in two sizes: 70″ (E705, 340cd/m² of brightness) and 80″ (E805, 300cd/m² of brightness). A scheduler feature, ambient light sensor and commercial-grade thermostatic cooling capability (operating temperature is between 0° and 40°) enables use in education and digital signage, as well as meeting rooms. Operating time is up to 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
Resolution is 1920 x 1080, with 178° viewing angles and an 8ms response time. The display features DisplayPort, HDMI (x2), DVI, VGA, RJ45 and RS232 inputs, as well as dual 10W speakers.
NEC America is selling the new E-series display now, for $3,200 (70″) and $5,600 (80″).
