NEC’s MDC212C2 is a 21.3″ greyscale and colour medical display, specifically designed for diagnostic imaging. It is the first product in NEC’s MDC series that is certified for this use.
The MDC212C2 works NEC’s GammaCompMD QA calibration software, to maintain its DICOM conformance. The display also meets the QA tests required in different European countries, such as IEC-62563-1 and DIN 6868-157.
Like the rest of the MDC series, this product includes front, ambient light and proximity sensors. These ensure a long-lasting white point and luminance, says NEC.
Two new features have been introduced to the MDC displays with this product. The first is Quick Screen QA – enabling DICOM conformance testing without the need to install special software – and the other is the QC Scheduler. QC Scheduler starts an automated process for calibration and DICOM conformance testing, carried out directly on the display.
Resolution is 1600 x 1200 (2MP), with an IPS panel providing 178° viewing angles, 1,500:1 contrast ratio and an 8ms response time. The display has a 14-bit lookup table and can display 10-bit colour. Brightness is 440 cd/m² at maximum, or 180 cd/m² when calibrated.
DisplayPort, DVI-D, VGA and USB 3.0 (x3) ports are featured. The monitor’s stand enables tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment.
NEC will begin to ship the MDC212C2 in January.
