NBC Announces Winter Olympic Coverage in Ultra HD and HDR

NBC Olympics has announced that coverage of the twenty-third Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea will be released in Ultra HD and HDR, a first for the Olympics.

The 2016 Rio Games were transmitted in UHD, but this will be the first time the Olympics has been shown in HDR. Each day’s coverage will become available after 24 hours and will include the opening ceremony, hockey, figure skating, short-track speed skating, ski jumping and snowboarding.

NBC also recently announced it will offer 50 hours of VR coverage from this year’s Winter Olympics, in partnership with Intel.
