MVG, the Munich travel company, working with marketing firm MC R&D, has doubled screen coverage of its passenger TV service, it said in a press release. Until now the service has been available on 84 trains in the U-Bahn (metro) but it has now been extended to include 50 overground trams. This has increased the number of screens from 336 to 636, which translates to 7.3 million viewings a week. Plans are now in place to gradually introduce screens to all trams and underground trains. When complete, this would create a broadcast system with 5,500 screens.
