A new IDC report on mobile technology spending (http://tinyurl.com/n9d9ffl) predicts that spending will rise 33% between 2014 and 2019. In monetary terms, that is a rise from $901 billion to $1.2 trillion!
The report found that the manufacturing sector presents the largest enterprise opportunity for mobile technologies. IDC also states that there are ‘numerous concerns’ around mobility – specifically, security and regulatory issues are the biggest barrier to adoption across industries such as government and financial services.
Excluding consumer spending, the industries expected to spend the most on mobile technologies include discrete and process manufacturing and professional services. These three segments will represent a combined total of 17% of the market in 2019.
