Microvision Nets $1.9 Million in Orders

Pico projection technology specialist Microvision says it has received purchase orders to the value of $1.9 million for components for high definition display modules being developed by its Fortune Global 100 customer. Microvision announced last April that it had signed a development agreement with the un-named company, which was described as an OEM “electronics giant” by president and CEO Alexander Tokman (Display Monitor Vol 20 No 15).

The Fortune Global 100 company said earlier this year that it was aiming to bring the display module to market for use in pico projectors and other devices with projector functionality. Microvision expects shipment of components to begin in the fourth quarter and extend into the first quarter of 2015. The components are intended as part of commercialisation preparation activities to exercise the supply chain for Microvision and its customer and to support early production needs.
