microsoft Microsoft has announced almost 2,000 jobs will be cut, as part of a move to restructure its smartphone business. The company will not exit the market entirely, but will focus its efforts on areas “where we have differentiation – with enterprises that value security, manageability and our Continuum capability, and consumers who value the same”, said CEO Satya Nadella.

The company will incur a $950 million restructuring cost due to the 1,850 jobs being cut. 1,350 of these will be lost in Finland.
