Microsoft Officially Announces Smaller and Cheaper Surface Tablet

Microsoft has officially launched a smaller and cheaper addition to its Surface range of tablet computers. With prices starting at $399, the Surface Go features a 10″ 1800 × 1200 PixelSense display, with a 3:2 aspect ratio and 217 pixels per inch. The device runs Windows 10, powered by Intel’s Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y and up to 8GB RAM, with either 64GB of eMMC storage or a 128GB SSD.

The Surface Go also features USB-C connectivity and a microSDXC card reader, as well as an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, both capable of capturing 1080p video. The device is available for pre-order now, ahead of its US release on August 2nd, with a UK release following on the 23rd.

Analyst Comment

The exact type of display used in the Surface Go hasn’t been specified but as last year’s Surface Pro featured an LCD display, I’d hazard a guess that the Go does as well. (AF)
