VueReal will introduce MicroLED design reference kits at CES 2025, marking what the company claims is an industry first for the technology. The Waterloo, Ontario-based firm developed the kits to help manufacturers integrate MicroLED displays into products across automotive, augmented reality, consumer electronics, and lighting applications.
The reference kits are built on VueReal’s MicroSolid Printing platform, which the company uses to produce micro-semiconductor devices. According to VueReal VP of Engineering Shawn Mills, the kits aim to address common development challenges in MicroLED implementation while reducing time to market.
The company’s offering comes as MicroLED technology gains attention for its potential advantages in brightness, power efficiency, resolution, and transparency compared to existing display technologies. The reference kits are designed to support both low and high-volume production scenarios.
At CES 2025 VueReal plans to demonstrate the reference kits’ capabilities through product integrations across multiple sectors. The company will showcase applications in automotive displays, AR devices, consumer electronics, medical equipment, and architectural lighting.
The development follows broader industry efforts to commercialize MicroLED technology, which has faced challenges in manufacturing complexity and cost. VueReal’s approach focuses on simplifying the integration process for manufacturers who may lack extensive experience with MicroLED implementations.
