MediaTek Inc. reported net revenues for December 2016 at NT$21.35 bn ($0.67 bn), resulting in an unaudited annual revenues for 2016 of NT$275.51 bn ($8.6 bn). The 2016 consolidated sales were 29.2% higher than the last year’s sales. The Q4 FY16 revenues totalled NT$68.68 bn ($2.15 bn) after a 12.4% decrease over the previous quarter but well within the company’s quarterly guidance.
The management attributed the strong revenue growth in 2016 to the robust performance of its China-based handset clients and a larger share in the smartphone-chip market.
