MediaTek announced revenue for FY17 Q1 at NT$56.1 billion ($1.8 billion), which were up by 0.3% on yearly basis but down by 18.3% compared to the previous quarter. The revenue for March 2017 was NT$20.8 billion ($680 million), which was an increase by 22.8% on monthly basis but a decrease by 2.4% on a yearly basis.
The FY17 Q1 revenues fell well within the company’s guidance that had indicated a dip in revenue primarily due to a seasonal slowdown in end-market demand and continued strengthening of the US dollar which is impacting emerging market growth.
