Mainland China Experiences Significant Decline in PC Sales

In Q1’23, the PC market (desktop, notebook, and workstation) in Mainland China observed a significant decline of 24% year-on-year (YoY), shipping only 8.9 million units. In contrast, the tablet market experienced a 38% YoY growth with 6.5 million units shipped. According to market research firm Canalys, Lenovo, Huawei, HP, Dell, and Asus were the top vendors for PC shipments, with Huawei being the only one to witness growth. In the tablet market, Apple led the pack, doubling its shipments to 2.5 million units. Other growing vendors included Huawei, Honor, and Xiaomi, while Lenovo experienced a decline.
