Magnetic 3D and ProntoTV Announce World-Debut of Glasses-Free 3D Video Walls

Magnetic 3D, the industry leader in autostereoscopic “glasses-free 3D” solutions, today announced the world-debut of glasses-free 3D video walls in partnership with ProntoTV, the largest total supplier of digital signage in the Norwegian marketplace.
This unique and permanent installation is the latest innovative feature in the Oslo Operational Center of Reitangruppen (The Reitan Group), a major Norwegian wholesaler, retail franchiser, and the fifth largest company in Norway.

The first ever glasses-free 3D video wall of its kind delivers an incredible, large-format, no-glasses 3D experience in Reitangruppen’s lobby. Seamlessly built into the architecture of the building, the prominent glasses-free 3D video wall is more than 10 feet wide and stands over eight feet tall. With a total resolution of 25 megapixels, the 3D video wall features twelve 46” Magnetic 3D displays in a 4 high by 3 wide configuration, as well as custom 3D content designed to entertain and amaze employees, clients, partners, and visitors alike.

“As Norway’s leading Digital Signage operator for 15 years with over 4000 screens deployed throughout Northern Europe and a long history of working with Reitangruppen, we wanted to install something truly unique and break new ground in AV solutions,” said Tore Hovda, Partner at ProntoTV. “Magnetic 3D’s video wall was a great alternative to LED or traditional video walls for the lobby, considering its attractive price point and the seamless ability to show regular 2D content or next-generation, large-format, glasses-free 3D content. Magnetic 3D was a great choice – they not only provided an incredibly innovative product for our client, but also went above and beyond with their service and support to ensure that the execution was flawless.”

Magnetic 3D’s glasses-free 3D video walls are made possible through the recent release of the company’s all new 46” Empreza™ Super Narrow Bezel 3D display product line that has been purpose-built from the ground up for professional glasses-free 3D video wall applications. The new monitors feature the latest in Direct LED backlit LCD technology, a new state-of-the-art 3D lens design, and a custom bezel of just 5.9mm to maximize the 3D experience. Featuring higher contrast ratio and brightness, improved 3D viewing zones, and increased sharpness, the Empreza™ is geared towards Professional AV users as well as environments that span retail, Digital Out of Home, Trade Shows and Events, Military, Medical, Control Room, Corporate Communications, Visualization, Scientific, Educational and many other commercial and industrial applications.

“The components in the Video Wall Computer were meticulously curated, custom engineered, and carefully optimized to stream glasses-free 3D creative content in unprecedented resolution,” said Michael Dorin, COO of Magnetic 3D. “I had the pleasure of assisting with the installation in Oslo and was delighted to see the stunning culmination of this new product development. We worked closely with outstanding people at AMD to achieve this bleeding edge solution and it may not have been possible without their incredible support.”

As part of Magnetic 3D’s Exclusive Authorized Dealer program which offers brands, agencies, integrators, and resellers the opportunity to be the first to introduce these impressive solutions into their respective markets, and in connection with the installation of the first Empreza™ glasses-free 3D video wall for Reitangruppen, ProntoTV has been granted exclusivity to the technology in Norway and will be Magnetic 3D’s preferred partner for 3D installations across all of Scandinavia.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with ProntoTV to release our 3D video walls into the Scandinavian market,” said Tom Zerega, CEO and Founder of Magnetic 3D. “The installation in Norway represents a brilliant use of 3D for corporate communications by one of Europe’s premier Systems Integrators. Reitangruppen and ProntoTV have certainly raised the bar for the digital lobby experience.”
