A ranking of the 2016 global LED packaging service providers, has Japan-based Nichia at the top, with revenues of $2.423 billion, and Taiwan-based Everlight Electronics coming second with $963.5 million. The ranking was by Digitimes Research.
The next places were taken by South Korea-based Seoul Semiconductor with $841.8 million, China-based MLS with $800.2 million, Germany-based Osram Opto Semiconductors with $787.6 million and South Korea-based LG Innotek with $613.2 million.
The top places for the highest yearly growth, went to MLS and China-based Hongli Zhihui and Foshan Nationstar Optoelectronics, with a 42.2%, 40.4% and 36.3% respective growth in revenues. The growth was put down in part to expanding production capacities, and mergers.
The places for the highest decrease in revenues, went to Japan-based Toyoda Gosei, LG Innotek and Nichia, with the three companies experiencing decreases of 44.3%, 11.5% and 9.8% respectively.
