Reports from Koreas say that LG Electronics is working with Qualcomm on the development of the chip for the G7 smartphone planned for next year. Qualcomm is developing a 7nm mobile chip, currently known as Snapdragon 845, which is expected to be 30% more powerful than the 835, in use in Samsung’s Galaxy S8. LG’s G6 is using the older 821 chip, and plans to adopt the 845 in a bid to move ahead. The improved data processing is needed for the growing number of virtual and augmented reality solutions.
