LG Teases ‘Always On’ Display

In a new teaser for the LG G5 (LG and Samsung Prepare World for New Flagships), LG has touted an ‘always-on’ screen for the phone. The teaser heavily implies an OLED display, as an LCD unit would consume a high amount of power – even with a relatively small number of pixels illuminated. . LG does currently produce flexible OLED displays at a G4.5 factory, but it is not clear if this fab could supply the scale required a flagship device.
