A variety of sources across the internet are reporting that LG’s next flagship smartphone, the G7, will not follow in the footsteps of the iPhone X or the company’s own V30 handset and use an OLED display, instead sticking with the more affordable LCD option. The decision has apparently been made in order to reduce costs, at a time when the company’s smartphone division is experiencing financial difficulties—the business has suffered losses for 11 consecutive quarters. It is believed that the G7 will be officially announced in June.
