LG Launches Advanced 5MP Diagnostic Monitor for Mammography and Breast Tomosynthesis

LG Electronics (LG) is expanding its B2B medical device business by introducing the 21HQ613D-B diagnostic monitor, recently cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration for sale in the US.

The 21HQ613D-B diagnostic monitor features a 21.3-inch, 5-megapixel (MP) IPS display designed for digital mammography and digital breast tomosynthesis. That means it is designed for high-definition radiological images with a resolution of 2,048 x 2,560, luminance of 1100cd/m², and contrast ratio of 1800:1.

An internal front calibration sensor and LG Calibration Studio medical software for DICOM calibration and quality assurance tests are included, and there is a Focus View Mode for detailed image examination and Multi-Resolution Mode (5, 3, and 2MP) for screen resolution adjustment.

The monitors have daisy-chaining support via DisplayPort and an ergonomic stand with adjustable tilt, height, swivel, and bi-directional pivoting. There is also a Presence Sensor for energy conservation, automatically shutting off the display after five minutes of inactivity.

LG’s lineup of diagnostic monitors includes 2MP, 3MP, 8MP, and 12MP models, catering to various medical imaging needs in large hospitals.
