The Korea Times said that LG Display has revealed that has renewed a patent license contract with Semiconductor Energy Laboratory (SEL), the Japanese research organisation. SEL has patents in OLEDs, LCDs and semiconductors including Oxide.
What We Think
Over the years, SEL has shown great research and technology samples at SID Display Week. It has worked closely with Sharp at times in developing technology to support the Japanese display industry. We have reported (a couple of decades ago), disputes between SEL and Samsung. In 2012 we reported on developments between Sharp and SEL in developing IGZO technology. In 2014, it showed OLEDs with more than 1,000ppi. (BR)
