LG Display Pioneers Carbon Footprint Certification

LG Display has just achieved a significant environmental milestone, becoming the first company in the display panel industry to receive certification from TÜV Rheinland for its Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculation methodology. The certification validates LG Display’s ability to quantitatively measure greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire lifecycle of its products, following international ISO 14067 standards.

The company didn’t just meet the basic requirements, they took a proactive approach by developing their own in-house evaluation methodology specifically optimized for displays. They’ve also created a user-friendly IT system that simplifies the carbon footprint calculation process by integrating with existing product development data.

“This certification is a meaningful achievement that demonstrates the global credibility of our eco-friendly product management system,” said Jeong-ki Park, Senior Vice President at LG Display, who oversees the Medium Display Development Group.

The move positions LG Display to better meet growing market demands for low-carbon products and strengthens their competitive edge in environmentally friendly manufacturing. The company plans to continue developing technologies that support transparent ESG management based on quantitative data.
