LG Channels Triples Its User Base in Europe, Reflecting Strong Growth in Ad-Supported Streaming TV (FAST)

LG Electronics’ free streaming service, LG Channels, has seen a threefold increase in its user base in Europe in the past year, reflecting the growing popularity of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) globally. The number of active LG Channels users in 16 European markets where the service is offered has increased by over 200% as of January 2023.

The service, first launched in the US in 2016 and in select European countries in 2019, offers local-language channels across several categories, including news, lifestyle, TV series, movies, and sports. To meet growing demand, LG will add new content and features to the service, with more content made available on the LG Channels mobile app. LG Channels has partnered with DAZN to feature DAZN FAST and the first 24/7 streaming channel dedicated to women’s sports. LG has also expanded content availability on the LG Channels mobile app, with hundreds of hours of content now available from 50 popular channels in Germany. Additionally, LG is launching advertising video on demand (AVOD) titles in five European countries and is adding new channels, including Storylands and Hell’s Kitchen, through its collaboration with ITV Studios.
