Although we saw LG’s new lineup of portable (Minibeam) LED projectors at CES 2015, we were unable to find more information about them except their model numbers: PF1500, PV150G, PW800 and PH300.
LG has now launched the Minibeam line in the USA. As portable models. they are designed for use on-the-go, with features such as Bluetooth audio streaming and wireless mirroring on select models. Each has a 30,000-hour lifespan.
The PF1500 is LG’s new flagship, with a smart TV tuner and Bluetooth audio. The unit also features 1.1x optical zoom, four-corner correction and auto vertical keystone correction. Resolution is 1920 x 1080 and brightness reaches 1,400 lumens. A 30″ – 120″ image can be projected (80″ at 2.4m).
Mirroring is supported through DLNA, WiDi and Miracast. The projector has two 3W speakers and ports for HDMI (x2, one with MHL), composite, RGB and USB (x2). It measures 132 x 221 x 83.8mm and weighs 1.5kg.
The other three projectors can project a 100″ image (minimum size: 10″ (PV150G), 25″ (PW800), 20″ (PH300)) and feature digital TV tuners. All have a USB media player. Both the PV150G and PW800 have wireless mirroring functionality, through WiDi and Miracast.
Each projector has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 1W speakers (dual speakers on the PW and PH models). Single MHL-HDMI and USB ports are featured on all models; the PW800 adds composite and RGB. Brightness and resolution are is 100 lumens/854 x 480 (PV150G); 800 lumens/1280 x 800 (PW800); and 300 lumens/1280 x 720 (PH300).
The PV150G measures 107.6 x 103 x 43.7mm and weighs 270g. The PW800 measures 140 x 140 x 50.8mm and weighs 580g. The PH300 measures 111.8 x 86.3 x 63.5mm and weighs 430g.
LG is selling the projectors now. They cost $1,000 (PF1500), $350 (PV150G), $600 (PW800) and $450 (PH300).
