Lenovo Recalling ThinkPad X1 Carbon Laptops Over Fire Hazard

Lenovo is voluntarily recalling some of its ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th Generation laptops, in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The company has determined that a limited number of devices may have an unfastened screw that could cause the laptop’s battery to overheat, potentially posing a fire hazard.

Laptops manufactured on or after November 1st 2017 are not affected by the issue. Those with devices made before that date can check if they’re affected by entering their model and serial number on the Lenovo website.

Customers with affected laptops are advised to stop using them immediately and arrange a free service inspection.
