Asus’ Eeebook X205 laptop (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 36) is now available in Germany.
Several LG products are now available. The 34UC97 (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 33) curved 34″ LCD monitor is being sold in the USA and Europe for $1,300. Additionally two videowall units, the 55LV75A and 55LV77A (Display Monitor Vol 21 Nos 7 & 25) are now on sale in Europe.
Colour accuracy is the focus of several new bundle offers from NEC America. The Spectraview2 EA Kit includes Spectraview software and a Spyder colour calibration sensor. It is now available bundled with NEC’s EA274WMi (Display Monitor Vol 20 No 44), EA244UHD (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 3) and EA304WMi (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 24). These bundles are known as the EA274WMi-BKSV, EA244UHD-BKSV and EA304WMi-BKSV; they will be shipped this month, for $950, $1,500 and $1,750, respectively.
In addition to the new Spectraview2 bundles, NEC has announced another laser-phosphor DLP projector, joining the PX602UL (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 7) launched at the NEC Showcase New York (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 43). The new PX602WL is identical to the UL model, but has lower resolution (1280 x 800). Both projectors will be available this month, for $9,300 (PX602WL) and $13,500 (PX602UL).
The 98″ LQ70 display from Panasonic (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 15) will be launched in Europe this month. An 84″ will follow in January. These displays will cost €45,780 and €22,630, respectively.
Technisat has released its new Technitwin ISIO TV in Germany – the company’s first digital TV with UltraHD resolution, introduced at IFA this year (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 36). Available in 42″, 50″, 55″ and 65″ sizes, the TV can upscale content from SD onwards to UltraHD. It supports 3D and picture-in- and picture-by picture, and features two CI+ slots; HbbTV; twin tuners (DVB-T/-C/-S); and a USB recorder. As a Smart set, the TV will recommend content to owners. It is available now for €1,260 (42″), €1,680 (50″), €2,015 (55″) or €2,985 (65″).
The Satellite CL10-B-100 (introduced at IFA, in Display Monitor Vol 21 No 36) is a new laptop from Toshiba; one of the low-cost ‘Windows 8.1 with Bing’ products. Also known as the ‘Cloudbook’, it is effectively a Chromebook running Windows. Much of the storage (100GB) is in the cloud, using Microsoft’s Onedrive; local storage is only 32GB (SSD). The 11.6″ product has 1366 x 768 resolution and a 1.26GHz Intel Celeron processor (N2840). HDMI, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports are featured. Toshiba is selling the laptop now for €250.
