Two new LCD modules have been introduced by Kyocera, with on-cell touch technology.
The TCG070WVLR-117 and TCG070WVLR-118 have a procap touch sensor layer integrated into the LCD structure, enabling them to be slimmer than units with on-glass touch. In addition to the reduced thickness, on-cell touch lowers interior reflections and improves component management, as a separate touchscreen supplier and integrator are not required.
Both units are 7″, with 800 x 480 resolution, a 650:1 contrast ratio, 170° viewing angles and 500cd/m² of brightness. They have an anti-flare, anti-fingerprint layer on their surface and will operate between -20° and 70°. Each has a 20-pin LVDS interface. The -117 model supports I2C interfaces while the -118 supports USB.
Module samples are available now. Mass production will begin in March.
