Kyocera Corporation reported net profit for the first 6 months of fiscal 2016 of JP¥ 50.8 billion ($423 million), signalling an increase of 16.4% YoY. Turnover increased 1.2% YoY to JP¥ 722 billion ($6 billion). Q2 net profit declined 20.5% to JP¥ 19.2 billion ($16 million), with turnover remaining flat at JP¥ 383 billion ($3.2 billion), a 1% increase YoY. Turnover increases were supported by a stronger Yen as well as the digital consumer equipment markets, which includes smartphones.
