According to a recent report from Kagan, a media research group within S&P Global Market Intelligence, SVOD in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland has increased its share of subscription-based video entertainment revenues to 22% as of the end of 2017, compared to 16% in 2016.
According to this new data, paid subscriptions in the region grew significantly for its three leading providers during 2017—23% for Netflix, 24% for HBO and 19% for Viaplay. Additionally, a relatively new contender in the market, C More, saw a 90% increase in subscriptions in Sweden.
