Inventec Eyes APAC Expansion

Inventec chairman Richard Lee has said that the company is considering establishing factories in Japan and Singapore this year. The depreciation of the yen against the dollar has led to requests for local assembly from Japanese customers. Through a re-entry into Singapore, Inventec would have an easier time accessing markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the ASEAN countries. The company is also setting up a factory in India now, to produce notebooks for local vendors.
