Intel Corporation’s third quarter turnover improved 8% year on year to $14.6 billion from $13.5 billion a year earlier, as the company reported that it had achieved record quarterly unit shipments of processors for PCs, servers, tablets, phones and Internet of Things, the first time Intel has shipped more than 100 million microprocessors in a quarter. Intel’s net profit for the quarter was also higher YoY, rising 12% to $3.3 billion from $3 billion. The company’s net profit in the first nine months of the year rose 15% to $8 billion from $6.9 billion, while turnover for the period was 5.8% higher at $41.1 billion compared with $38.8 billion in the first nine months of 2013.
