Innolux has announced it will premiere a 100″ 16K display at Touch Taiwan 2018 in Taipei at the end of August. The company says that the product is equipped with the latest video chip, a high-transmittance pixel design, high brightness, a resolution of 15360 × 8640, a wide viewing angle and wide colour gamut. Innolux claims that pixel dots can’t be seen from as close as 50 cm.
A 65″ 8K Mega-Zone display with local dimming and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 will also be present at the Innolux booth. The company says that the screen’s resolution is four times that of a UHD OLED, with double the brightness but the same power consumption. Innolux is apparently targeting commercial and domestic applications for the 8K Mega-Zone.
Innolux will also showcase a 277″ TV wall with a height of 2.86 metres, composed of sixteen 65″ panels with 1 cm borders in a 2 × 8 formation.

I’m just hoping that someone will have one of these displays at IFA, although it may be unlikely as there are no TV processors that could support it, although we saw a 16K video wall configuration at ISE. (BR)
