Foxconn-owned Innolux has announced it will cut 10,000 jobs as it plans to automate 75% of its production processes. The firm’s workforce will drop from around 60,000 to 50,000. The company recently spent $342 million incorporating AI and robotics into its manufacturing process.
Honorary Chairman Tuan Hsing-Chien made the announcement at a press conference earlier this week, saying the planned job cuts will take place before the end of 2018.
