Innolux expects to ship 8 or 9 million display panels for automotive use this year, with prestigious brands including Mercedes, BMW and Porsche, according to Asian sources who got the information at Touch Taiwan. It is trying to extend its sales to Japan. However, around 50% of all sales are for after market products. The company is also reported to be supplying the 17″ LCD for the Tesla CID (central information display).
