IFA 2016: Consumer Electronics China gears up for April 2016 launch

The countdown has started for the first Consumer Electronics China (CE China). The show will open its doors from 20 to 22 April 2016 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center and will be a premier opportunity for both Chinese and international brands to showcase their latest products – not just to consumers and retailers in China, but across Asia. CE China is a global IFA event, run by the Messe Berlin team behind the success of IFA, the world’s leading show for consumer electronics and home appliances.

Exhibition space at CE China is in high demand, not least given the maximum capacity of 30,000 square metres for next year’s first event. “Pre-bookings have been very brisk, so we already had to set an upper limit for the booth size available to each company,” said Jens Heithecker, Executive Director of IFA at Messe Berlin. “If you want to make your mark in the world’s largest consumer market in 2016, then now is the time to secure your space at CE China.” Exhibitors can apply for space on the IFA website – www.cechina-ifa.com

CE China is set to be in the global media spotlight from day one, not least as IFA will hold its next annual Global Press Conference (GPC) not in Europe, but in Hong Kong and Shenzhen during the three days leading up to the start of CE China. The Global Press Conference usually attracts more than 300 journalists from around the world, and in 2016 will offer a unique opportunity for CE China exhibitors to showcase their innovation and products in front of the world’s Top Tier technology media.

“CE China is already shaping up as Asia’s premier trade show for the consumer electronics and appliances industry,” said Dr Christian Göke, the Chief Executive of Messe Berlin. “The time is right to take the successful IFA concept – with its focus on putting brands and products in front of an audience of trade visitors and real consumers – and bring it to China.

“Only the strength of the IFA brand and the quality of the IFA concept can give CE China this kind of head start – both in terms of organisational and public relations.”

CE China has the support of Shenzhen’s Economy Trade and Information Commission and the city’s administration. Top Chinese retailers like Alibaba and Gome are also backing the concept, while other leading retailer groups have signalled their support. IDG, China’s most important publisher for media focusing on consumer electronics, will be a long-term strategic Partner of CE China.
