Hulu Launches Live TV as Expected

Hulu has launched its new live TV streaming service in beta in the US, after previously announcing its intentions to launch a live service. The service offers more than 50 live and on-demand channels and includes 50 hours of recording storage, up to six individual profiles and two simultaneous streams per account for $39.99 per month.

Subscribers to the new live service can access Hulu’s existing $7.99 per month premium streaming service with no setup costs. Users can also opt to upgrade to an enhanced cloud DVR to get 200 hours of recording storage, or pay extra to access unlimited screens in the home and three screens outside of the home. The enhanced cloud DVR and the unlimited screens services, are both priced at $14.99 per month each, or $19.99 per month if both service are taken.

Hulu has signed a new affiliate deal with Scripps Networks Interactive to bring networks, including HGTV, Travel Channel and Food Network to both Hulu’s new live, and existing premium streaming services.

Hulu has also announced that it has deals in place with ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, CBS Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports, National Geographic, TBS, USA Network and Viceland.
