A new request has been posted on Ninesigma, asking for proposals for head-up display equipment for aviation use.
Ninesigma request #1,251,795 has been posted by an aerospace supplier. Companies are asked to develop a HUD capable of displaying conformal symbology for an aircraft guidance application.
Key success criteria include: the elimination of a bulky overhead projector; require minimised projector volume; preferably use the windscreen as a combiner; and offer a clear path to meeting avionic conformality and environmental requirements.
Projection and microdisplay technology are both valid solutions, but head-mounted displays are not.
A concept design must be validated within six months and a proof of concept demonstrated in 12-18 months. The final submission date for proposals is 17th October. More information is available at http://tinyurl.com/ndmdf9r.
