In the wake of the news that the president of HTC’s smartphone and connected devices business, Chialin Chang, has resigned with immediate effect, the rumour mill is in full swing, alleging that senior employees of the company’s VR department will also be taking charge of its smartphone business going forward. The company is yet to comment on the rumours.
According to HTC’s announcement to its investors, Chang left his role with HTC to pursue a “personal career plan”. In the last few weeks, the company sealed a deal which saw a large proportion of its smartphone team move across to Google. (HTC Finalises Smartphone Staff Transfer Deal with Google)
