HTC Corporation recorded its biggest ever quarterly loss in Q2, swinging to a net loss of NT$8 billion ($248.6 million) from a net profit of NT$2.2 billion ($68.3 million) in the second quarter of last year. Turnover for the quarter also declined, falling 49% to NT$33 billion ($1 billion) from NT$65.1 billion ($2 billion) in Q2 of the previous year. The company said its second quarter performance was hit by weaker than expected demand at the high-end of the smartphone market, coupled with weak sales in China.
