HP Tablets Focus on Productivity

Finally, we come to tablets and hybrids. HP’s 13.3″ Spectre x360 hybrid (MWC Round-Up) has been updated and renamed. Now known as the Spectre 13 x360, it has 1920 x 1080 or 2560 x 1440 resolution and runs Windows 10 on a Core i5 or i7 Skylake chip, with Intel HD 520 graphics. 4GB of RAM are standard, and storage is between 128GB and 512GB (SSDs).

The new Spectre will be released on the 8th November, for $1,300.

HP Envy Note 8 tabletAnother Spectre, the x2, was shown at the event. Similar in appearance to Microsoft’s Surface models, this 12″ convertible features a kickstand, is 8mm thick and weighs less than 900g. Unlike Microsoft’s tablets, HP actually supplies the Spectre x2 with a keyboard (with 1.5mm of travel on the keys)!

The display has a rather unusual 1920 x 1280 resolution. The tablet uses Intel Core M (Skylake) processors and 4GB/8GB of RAM. Storage is between 128GB and 512GB. Two USB-C ports are featured on the tablet, and an Intel Realsense camera is built into the rear (although this means that it cannot be used for Windows Hello facial recognition sign-in). HP will start selling the Spectre x2 on the 8th November, for $800.

The last and smallest product is the Envy 8 Note, an 8″ tablet, which can be slotted into an almost-full-size (10″) keyboard, with 1.5mm of key travel. For such a small device, screen resolution is impressively high: 1920 x 1200. The tablet is 7.7mm thick and uses an Intel Atom processor. The tablet will be released on the 8th November, for $330, or $430 including the keyboard.
