Vision Products has been selected as the exclusive supplier for the Naval Aviation Systems Consortium’s (NASC) program for microdisplays and optics for future naval HMDs. The onus is on developing a high-resolution, daylight-readable, color HMD to improve situational awareness and operational effectiveness for naval aviators.
If you don’t know the company, one of the key products for the Californian company, the SA-62/H HMD, is designed for Apache helicopter pilots. it features a full-color OLED microdisplay with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, and includes a prism eyepiece design that offers an unobstructed view of the real world, with a wide 53° horizontal by 33° vertical field of view.
