Hitachi upgrades Ultra-Short and Interactive Ultra-Short Throw LCD projectors for improved convenience and performance

Hitachi Digital Media Group announces a series upgrade to the range of Ultra-Short Throw and Interactive Ultra-Short Throw LCD projectors. Building on the exceptional performance and advanced features of their predecessors, the new models offer improvement in image quality and contrast as well as lower Total Cost of Ownership through lamp life of up to 10,000 hours (Eco-2).

“With enhancements across the board in virtually every area, these new models offer more convenience, more performance and a host of features to make the projectors even easier to set up and operate,” said Axel Kutschke, Senior Manager, Presentation Products for Hitachi Digital Media Group. “The new Image Optimizer on all models ensures that the bright, colourful, high contrast image does not degrade with years of use. Interactive models now feature interactivity for up to six people simultaneously with pens or fingers, MHL support and enhanced Perfect Fit and calibration with memory function.”

All seven new models offer a headline contrast ratio of 10000:1. The HDCR and Accentualizer features are now automatically adjusted by the new Image Optimizer to maintain perfect image quality as the lamp ages, regardless of ambient light conditions. With lamp life extended to up to 10,000 hours (Eco-2) the new models now produce high quality images for even longer without the need for adjustment or maintenance.

Perfect Fit and powered focus, as well as enhanced networking and operating system support, ensure that all models are easy to set-up and adjust.

The Ultra-Short Throw range is made up of five models. The CP-AX2505, CP-AX3005 and the CP-AX3505 are 1024 x 768 pixels, XGA resolution models, which offer 2,700, 3,300 and 3,600 Lumens respectively. The CP-AW2505 and CP-AW3005 are 1280 x 800 pixel WXGA resolution models that provide 2,700 and 3,300 Lumens respectively. The Interactive models, which include built-in cameras, are available in two variants. The CP-TW2505 and CP-TW3005 models are both WXGA resolution models, providing 2,700 and 3,300 Lumens respectively. Both models provide up to six-point simultaneous pen or optional finger operation. A Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) supports the mirroring to the projector of a phone or tablet running any app including audio and 1080p/60fps video.

The new interactive models now support driverless operation, meaning users now have full interactive control by simply attaching via a USB cable with no software downloads. They also offer fast auto-calibration with one push of the remote control, whether attached to a PC or operating in PC–less mode. These models also feature three individual memory settings for Perfect Fit and calibration.

The multi-screen display option allows for continuous interactive drawing across the double screen from a single PC. Interactivity is even available via document cameras and other input devices when not connected to a PC.

All seven new models measure 377mm x 141mm x 360mm, weigh in at approx. 4.3kg and are each available with optional wireless connectivity.

Models will be available from October 2015.
