This third quarter, Himax began mass production of its third-generation automotive TDDI IC (HX83195 series) and OLED touch controller IC (HX8530 series). The company claims to have over 50% market share in automotive TDDI having shipped over 70 million units.
The HX83195 quad-chip is designed for displays up to 30- inches. It has dynamic refresh rates and advanced touch sampling. It uses Himax’ proprietary touch control algorithm to reduce touch response time.
The HX8530 OLED has gone into mass production for a major Chinese EV manufacturer. Up to three ICs can be cascaded to support displays as large as 50-inches with 240Hz touch report rate. It supports both rigid and flexible OLED panels.
