Samsung has shown off a new curved (1,800R) monitor for gaming at Gamescom in Germany. The CFG70 is a 24″ model with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Samsung claims that the monitor is the industry’s first with a 1ms (G2G) ‘moving picture response time’. It also has an OSD designed for gaming: the Gaming UX OSD, which can be used to adjust core settings like response time and refresh rate.
Because gamers tend to use their displays for extended periods, eye care is essential. Samsung has built its Eye Saver mode into the CFG70, which lowers blue light output. The screen is also flicker-free and compatible with AMD’s FreeSync technology.
Display resolution is 1920 x 1080, supplied by the VA panel; this also has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles. Additionally, the monitor can reproduce 125% of sRGB.
DisplayPort and HDMI interfaces are featured. The monitor can also be tilted, swivelled, pivoted and raised/lowered. Samsung will launch the CFG70 in October for €365 ex VAT.
