Hannstar Display achieved a 7.2% month on month increase in sales in October, though year on year sales of NT$2.1 billion ($68.6 million) represented a 12.9% decline. October’s result brought sales for the period from January to October to NT$19.5 billion ($637.4 million) down 29.2% from the same ten month period of 2013. Hannstar shipped 35.1 million small and medium panels, just 1% higher than September, while shipments of large panels and HannsG products declined 30% sequentially to 47,000 units. According to reports, Hannstar is responding to growing demand for on-cell-touch panels for entry-level and mid-range phone handsets by increasing production.
