From July, Hannstar Display will be supplying 5.7″ and 6″ 18:9 panels for all-screen smartphones, according to Digitimes. Later in the year the company says that other sizes, including 5.5″ and 6.2″, will be available. Prices for smartphone panels fell 20% in Q1 and a further drop of between 10% and 20% is expected for Q2. Hannstar intends to concentrate on integrating touch with HS-IPS wide-angle display panels based on 0.25mm glass this year. The company is also in the process of getting certification in Europe and the US for OEM supply of its automotive displays.
